Your Body is a Revolution

Don’t turn into a pumpkin, dear Asha, before I can kiss you.

Your indoor cat is named Lester, and he keeps moving like a firefighter through a burned-out disco.

So much is about survival today, a race in which we ultimately all lose.

And I think they’re related, the friendly versus the unfriendly in a ratio like pleasure and pain.

Here in the valley, the imaginary line between mountains, is where I burn my torch.

I’m in a spot where I can’t wriggle my way out, no matter how many spontaneous explosions happen.

I’m no diplomat, but my goal is to negotiate for your incredible body, the only part of this world that isn’t part of a strange fiction written on every page of a dying novel.

Despite all the efforts to the contrary, you’re healthy, devoted in your dedication to love.

It should come as no shock that I love you and want you; at its base is my desire to fill every one of your needs.

There’s a hole in my sleeve from where they tried to stab me with the enthusiasm of a deranged citizen.
