Maybe you think it quite crude of me, but I had checked off the list of the women in the picture, all but Tamia Galvan. I felt like an all-powerful conqueror, or at least I would if I could somehow woo her and complete my collection. But it seemed like it was going to be more difficult than I had hoped. I thought I had to put my mojo really in gear if I were to succeed.

I got to my desk the next morning after leaving Joslyn’s in the middle of the night. I was really tired but satisfied. She had shown me an amazing evening and succeeded in making me feel like a man who was desired, admired, and well, kingly.

But I was shocked to see a bouquet of roses sitting there waiting for me. The card read thanks for the dance so I immediately knew who they were from. She had called me her red rose, but I thought that she was just making up a pet name for me. I had no idea that she was serious about the rose thing.

Damn, she was apparently quite appreciative of my efforts last night. But I didn’t quite know how to react to the flowers, which made everyone in my section of the building whisper and wonder.

Then I got a text from Joclyn which read: don’t mean to be weird, hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re a lovely man.
